Virtual Ocean Mouse and Keyboard Controls

Importing Data into Virtual Ocean
Your own data can be imported from tables and viewed in Virtual Ocean by choosing Import Data Tables in the File menu.
General Data Viewers
Several data sets are accessible through the General Data Viewers menu of Virtual Ocean. More data and datatypes are continually becoming available.
Accessing Data through Web Services
Use Connect to WFS under the File Menu to access data in Virtual Ocean through OGC-compliant Web Services.

Select Available Data to select or search available data either from a listing that appears in a separate window:
Custom Data Viewers
Custom Data Viewers are designed to maximize the usefulness of the dataset you are browsing. Click the links for information on viewing each data type:
- PETDB Bedrock Geochemistry – chemistry of hard rock samples from the seafloor.
- Earthquake Locations and Epicenters – shows earthquake locations, focal depths and magnitudes.
- Drilling-DSDP/ODP/BRG – shows locations with data from drilling the ocean sediment layer.
